Off-Grid Media Lab | Project Moviedrome

Powered by the Sun and Cooled by the Sea

Built by Darren // @sicknology // information Technology Security Specialist

Moviedrome is the ultimate off-grid home media hub and custom PC project. Merging high end enthusiast computing with commercial grade green energyπŸƒ Combining the suns solar energy with a liquid cooled CPU/GPU creates an exceptionally sustainable, high performance computing setup. This system maximises environmental efficiency through two primary mechanisms: zero emission power generation and optimised thermal management.

Project Moviedrome Workstation Setup

🌍 Moviedrome: Preserving Cinema, Powered by the Planet.

β˜€οΈ Powered by the Sun

  • 9.1 kWp Solar Array 20 high-efficiency 455W panels optimized to capture maximum daylight.
  • Dura-i Hybrid 6kW Inverter The central system brain managing power routing with 97.3% efficiency.
  • Dura16 Battery Storage Commercial-grade storage bank to fuel A.I processing power.
  • Grid Isolation Hardware Heavy-duty Changeover Switch paired with a dedicated physical Earthspike.

🌊 Cooled by the Sea

  • Bespoke CPU Water Block The System is Water Cooled with Premium copper blocks for instant thermal transfer High-Density Radiator: The 27mm thick radiator encompasses 14 rows of aluminum tubes paired with dense, 20mm folded fins. This configuration significantly increases the surface area for rapid heat transfer.
  • High-Performance Pump Loop Continuous liquid circulation and silent running with Multi-Chamber Technology (M.C.T.) Eliminates flow dead-zones and reduces fluid resistance inside the block. The Result: The pump can move water rapidly over the copper cold plate at lower mechanical RPMs, keeping pump below an imperceptible 20 dBA while maximizing heat absorption.
